JAMES STEPHENS
Born in Huddersfield, Great Britain, age 22. Studied at The Royal Ballet School in London from 2004-2013 and graduated with Honours after performing Le Souffle de l´esprit (Jiri Bubenicek), Rhapsody Pas de deux (Sir Frederick Ashton) and Greek Dancers (Maurice Bejart). Performed The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty and La Valse with the Royal Ballet. Guested in Melbourne, Australia as Prince Florestan in the Sleeping Beauty. Joined The Wiener Staatsballett in 2013, his repertory includes Schwanensee (Rudolf Nurejew), Etudes (Harald Lander), Der Nussknacker (Rudolf Nurejew), Manon (Kenneth MacMillan), Dornoschen (Peter Wright and Marius Petipa), Romeo und Julia (John Cranko), Mayerling (Kenneth MacMillan), Josephs Legende and Verklungenefeste (John Neumeier), Swan Lake Pas de Cinq/Pas de Quatre (Rudolf Nurejew/ Marius Petipa), Allegro Brillante (Balanchine), La Fille Pas (Joseph Lanzini), Arepo Pas (Maurice Bejart), Le Intermittences du coeur (Roland Petit). In June 2016 he was promoted to semi-soloist.
