started training at age thirteen at The School of Alberta Ballet in Calgary, Canada. After two years he started studying at the Goh Ballet Academy, Vancouver, during his time there he was a finalist at competitions in Hong Kong, Beijing and Varna. He completed his training and graduated from The Royal Ballet School, London in 2007. James joined Het Nationale Ballet in August 2007 and was quickly promoted through the ranks to second soloist in 2012.
