Donnie Duncan jr began his dance training in Southern Illinois before furthering his dance education at Webster University in St Louis, MO, where he received his BFA. During this time, he performed works by Jose Limon, Antony Tudor, Dianne McIntyre, Dawn Karlovsky, Kameron Saunders and was a guest artist with dawsondanceSF. Upon graduation he would join Netherlands Dans Theatre II, where he would go on to perform many different pieces of the company's repertoire and soon after would join NDT I and continue his career as a full-time performing artist.

At Origen he danced in «Venom» (2022) by Luca Andrea Tessarini.
