THREE CINEMATIC COLLAGES BY DAVID MERKOFER
David Merkofer has been documenting the Origen Festival with his camera for three years. The result is a small trilogy of idiosyncratic collages in strong colours, about large themes and wide stages. In the year of Babylon 2012, Merkofer portrayed the death of King Belshazzar on Riom's town square. The epic of the great flood on the dam of Marmorera he captured on surveillance cameras. In the year of Charlemagne he accompanied the young emperor through deep snow in Silvaplana. We show Merkofer's trilogy in Riom's «Village Cinema» – located in the gym in which all three productions originated.
