Murat Cevik grew up in Istanbul and studied transverse flute. After receiving his teaching diploma at the University Marmara he started studying at the ZHdK with Matthias Ziegler and graduated with distinction. he took classes with Aurelle Nicolet, William Bennett, gulsen Tatu and Clifford Benson. His interest led him to Jazz, which he studied with the saxophonist Christoph Grab at the ZHdK. Apart from solo concertos he perform with several renowned ensembles and different Jazz projects. With his band Asarat he mainly performs original compositions.
