LETIZIA SCHERRER
began her studies at the conservatory in Feldkirch and continued them in Zurich, at the Samuel-Rubinstein-Academy in Tel Aviv with Tamar Rachum and at the Conservatory Basel with Kurt Widmer. Letizia Scherrer had her debut at the Salzburg Festival in 1999. She performed the Brahms Requiem at the New York Carnegie Hall the same year.
By now the singer has had concerts all over Europe, South America and the USA and worked with conductors liek Michael Corboz, Marcus Creed Philippe Herreweghe, Manfred Honeck, Gérard Korsten, Roger Norrington Helmuth Riling, Jordi Savall, Wolfgang Sawalisch, Mario Venzago and Jörg-Peter Weigle. She was awarded several prizes at international competitions such as the 2. prize at the XI. International Johan Sebastian Bach competition, the 1. prize at the Franz Schubert und die Moderne 2000 competition in Graz and 2003 the Karajan prize of the Eliette von Karajan cultural fond.
