Karl Simko studied at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold, the Liszt-Ferenc-Academy in Budapest and at the Akademie für Tonkunst in Darmstadt.

He is cellist in the quartet «4 Times Baroque», received an OPUS Klassik (formerly ECHO Klassik) in 2018 as «Young Artist of the Year» and looks back on engagements at the Rheingau Music Festival, Thuringian Bach Weeks, Mozart Festival Würzburg, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Händel-Festspiele Göttingen and others.

At the Origen Festival he accompanied Craig Davidson's «Existentia» (2020) with the cello.
