was born in Freiburg. he had his dance education at the Conservatoire National in paris. In 1981 he became a part of the Compagnie of Peter van Dyck in Bonn and later of Heinz Spoerlis Baseler Ensemble. From 1988 on he worked in Munich. There he performed in Bournovilles «La Sylphide», in Hans van Manens «Grosse Fuge» and Preljocajs «Larmes Blanches». In 1999 he graduated from the Munich conservatory as a ballet teacher and worked in Munich and Madrid. Jean-Christophe Lessage works as a ballet master at the Vienna State Opera since 2009 and has a close cooperation with the Origen Festival since 2012.
