Brahms Requiem
Every year at the time of the Lent, the Julier Tower tells of the great growth and decay in nature. In the midst of the rugged mountain spring, the Origen Ensemble under the direction of Clau Scherrer sings Johannes Brahms' «German Requiem» in the famous London version for choir and piano for four hands. Johannes Brahms does not use the classical Latin texts for his Requiem, but carefully selects biblical passages from the Old and New Testaments. In the Psalms, in the prophecies of Revelation or in the Beatitudes of the Sermon on the Mount he finds words that speak of suffering and sorrow, but above all of consolation. Brahms' famous Requiem is one of the most important works in music history.
